Botulinum Toxin A, short-called BOTOX® is a medicine that is used since 1970s by ophthalmologists, neurologists and physical therapists for the treatment of various muscle groups. BOTOX has been used since the mid-90s for aesthetic treatments. By Botulinum Toxin injection the muscle activity will be reduced and muscles will be paralyzed by blocking the nerve cells for artificial relaxation.

Botox Injection Procedure
In the treatment, the doctor injects the exact dose of Botox targeted at a distance of a few millimeters in the particular area of skin. Already after 2-3 days are the first effects to be seen and to feel. After about 2 weeks the end result will be achieved. The effect of a Botox Injections lasts in about 6 months and it can be renewed. However, there are studies which show that renewed treatments may prolong the effect of BOTOX.
Botox for excessive sweating
When people sweat more than necessary, it’s called hyperhidrosis, which is excessive sweating. This can be treated with Botox. In the treatment, Botox is injected under the targeted area of skin where one is complaining of excessive sweating. It reaches the sweat glands and Botox specifically blocks the nerve impulses sent there.
Masseter Botox
The masseter is a muscle on the side of your face that helps you chew and it connects your cheekbone to your lower jawbone. Injecting Botox into this muscle is called a “Masseter Botox”. It can relieve symptoms of teeth clenching or grinding. It can also help contour your jawline. If Botox is used in your masseter muscles (near your cheekbones) it can also change your face shape and manage facial pain. Botox in the masseter is typically used for; managing teeth grinding, reducing jaw tension, pain and clenching, relieving headaches, contouring a square jaw, creating a balanced face shape.
Botox for migraines
Botox is also effective for chronic migraines. It is used in particularly severe cases of chronic migraine when the patient has not responded adequately to oral medication. The treatment reduces the frequency of attacks and headaches. Botox can prevent migraines by injecting it into specific head and neck muscles.
The post treatment instructions after a BOTOX treatment
It may only occur redness or swelling at the injected area that disappears after a short time by itself. BOTOX should not be used on pregnant and lactating women, people with certain rare neurological and muscular disorders.
