Dental Filling

A dental filling is a restorative treatment used to repair a tooth affected by decay, minor fractures, or wear. During the procedure, the damaged portion of the tooth is removed and the resulting area is filled with a suitable restorative material. Tooth-coloured composite fillings are commonly used because they can be matched to the natural colour of the tooth. The type of filling material depends on the location and condition of the tooth. Early treatment of tooth decay can help prevent the damage from progressing and may reduce the need for more extensive treatment.

Root Canal Treatment

Root canal treatment is used when the pulp, the soft tissue inside a tooth containing nerves and blood vessels, becomes inflamed or infected. This can occur as a result of deep decay, cracks, trauma, or repeated dental procedures. During treatment, the infected or inflamed pulp is removed. The root canals are then cleaned, shaped, and sealed to prevent further infection. The tooth is subsequently restored with a filling or, when necessary, a dental crown. Root canal treatment is intended to eliminate infection and preserve the natural tooth whenever possible.

Wisdom Tooth

Wisdom teeth, also known as third molars, are the last teeth to develop and usually appear between the late teenage years and early twenties. They may grow normally without causing problems, but in some cases there may not be enough space for them to erupt properly. A wisdom tooth may become partially or completely impacted, which can lead to pain, inflammation, infection, gum problems, or damage to neighbouring teeth. Treatment depends on the position and condition of the tooth. If removal is necessary, the procedure may range from a straightforward extraction to a surgical extraction, depending on the individual case.

The appropriate treatment depends on the condition of the tooth, the surrounding tissues, and the patient’s individual needs. A dental examination, and when necessary dental X-rays, are used to determine the diagnosis and treatment plan.
